Computer Network Use Procedures
As a user of the school district network, all students must abide by the Acceptable Technology Use Agreement. Additionally, users who utilize district wireless access will be required to abide by the Acceptable Wireless Use Policy. The Acceptable Technology Use Agreement (BP365.2) and Acceptable Wireless Use Policy (BP365.2) can be found at http://www.elkhorn.k12.wi.us/DistrictInformation/SchoolBoard/SchoolBoardPolicies/tabid/1158/Default.aspx Proper use of the Elkhorn Area School District computers is important to the successful learning environment in our school. Violation of the district’s acceptable use policies may include, but are not limited to, the following: the student will be removed from computer usage for 2 weeks up to one calendar year, the student will be banned from bringing a laptop or similar device to school, and/or the student will not be issued a pass to use school computers without direct adult supervision. In case of damage, students will be responsible for the cost of repair. A student who has been removed for any computer infractions will NOT be allowed to access computers when needed for a class. It will be the responsibility of the student to complete assignments using computers outside the district.
Please note, that e-mail and use of the district’s computer network is not guaranteed to be private. The mail system will be monitored. Messages relating to or in support of illegal activities must, by law, be reported to the authorities. The use of the EASD network is a privilege, not a right, which may be revoked at any time for abusive or inappropriate conduct.
